What channel is Alabama vs. Miami on today? Time, TV schedule to watch 2021 season opener

The season’s first ranked matchup between nonconference opponents features one team trying to reclaim lost glory in No. 14 Miami, and another trying to remain the king of college football in No. 1 Alabama.

The Crimson Tide will hope Saturday’s meeting goes similarly to these teams’ last game, when No. 2 Alabama demolished heavily favored, top-ranked Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl to claim the national championship. Miami will want to avoid that outcome while enacting a little revenge with what would undoubtedly be a program-building win.

The Hurricanes have their work cut out for them, but do have the advantage of taking on first-time starter Bryce Young in Alabama’s backfield. Despite getting some playing time in the Tide’s 2020 national championship-winning team, Young, the former No. 2 overall recruit in the country, has largely been untested. How well Miami’s defensive playmakers — Bubba Bolden, Tyrique Stevenson, Nesta Jade Silvera and others — take advantage of his inexperience could determine how this game goes.

Saturday’s matchup will also mark the return of quarterback D’Eriq King after he underwent surgery to reconstruct the meniscus and ACL in his right knee. Like his Alabama counterpart, he’ll have a stout defense to face in Alabama, which includes proven playmakers at every level of the field in LaBryan Ray, Will Anderson Jr., Christian Harris, Henry To’oTo’o, Malachi Moore and more.

With that, here’s everything you need to know about Saturday’s game between Alabama and Miami:
